Intel-based iMac Performance Claims Challenged

imac picYahoo News reports that new benchmark tests are calling into question whether the new Intel-based iMacs are living up to Steve Jobs' claim that they are two to three times faster than their predecessors.

In a series of tests using iMovie and iPhoto, two high-performance applications, the magazine Macworld found that an iMac running an Intel 2.0-GHz Core Duo processor gained only a modest performance increase of 10 to 25 percent over older iMacs. [Yahoo News]

I believe that this proves that increase of Gigahertz of processors don't really translate to the equal increase in performance. Anyway, faster is still faster, no matter if it is 300% ,or just 25%.
