Tom's Hardware recently updated its CPU Charts to include Intel Core 2 and AMD AM2 processors.
However, selecting the right processor has not become any easier. There are still lots of different product lines and model numbers on the market, and the simple fact that Intel outperforms AMD in both performance and performance per Watt categories does not mean that a Core 2 Duo is your best pick by default. Don't forget that superior products come at a price. [Tom's Hardware]
Looking at the AMD charts, I am quite surprised that there are a lot of Socket AM2 Sempron processors available. Likewise with the Socket 775 Celeron D processors. These charts are very valuable in determining the correct processor model that you are looking to purchase, especially for the Intel processors.
