Upgrade Your Graphics Card

radeon 2600 imgExtremeTech guides us on deciding on what graphics card to get for our system.

"We would still recommend those looking to buy a graphics card in the $200-250 price range should wait to see how the battle between Nvidia and ATI's new products shake out, because they both seem to be huge improvements over what's out there today at that price. For the truly next-generation stuff, we may have to wait until next year." [ExtremeTech | ExtremeTech's Graphics Card Upgrade Guide]

For AGP systems, the minimum recommended upgrades are the GeForce 7600 GS and Radeon X1650 Pro cards. For PCIe, the GeForce 7600 GT (which is faster than the 8500 GT) and Radeon HD 2600 XT cards are the entry choices. All cards cost under US$100, in case you are wondering about prices.
