ExtremeTech takes a good look at the Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 (US$79.95). The mouse features an unconventional ergonomic shape, operates on 27MHz wireless technology, a USB wireless receiver, AA batteries support, and 1000 DPI laser eye.
" The 6000's odd shape is, well, oddly appealing. With most of your hand's weight on the baseball-shaped mouse and your fingers curled up and over the top, the 6000 is comfortable to grip and move around. Since the hand is turned diagonally, it's at a healthier position-that is if you believe that the more vertical, the better. The wrist will bend up a bit more than a regular flat mouse, so we question the ergonomics with that. [...] The main draw to the 6000 is its unconventional yet comfortable shape, as well as a few interesting features. Like many specialized mice these days, the 6000 is pricey; just be sure that you'll appreciate its features to justify the cost." [ExtremeTech]
The Plus factors on the MS Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 are: Shape and hand orientation more ergonomic; many software features; side-to-side scrolling; firm, grippable thumb area. In my opinion, this is very expensive, even for a wireless mouse. Probably a good thing to look at offers from Logitech?
