Get Value Out of Lower-end Graphics Cards

Tom's Hardware posts an article about squeezing value out of lower-end graphics cards.

Both the 6600 with DDR2 and the redesigned GTO are both valid choices for gaming with PCI Express on a budget. The new PowerColor model brings the R430 from the XL's lofty $280 price point into the hands of the consumer for $185. The added $65 over the 6600 makes it a very reasonable purchase. From what I understand, getting a sub-$200 Radeon X800GTO graphics card (with 16 pipe R430 graphics core) will give us the most value per dollar. If you cannot find one at that range, a GeForce 6600 with DDR2 (at about $125) is the next best thing. But of course, if you are willing to spend for a GeForce 6800 GS graphics card, that's even a better choice.
