Info-Tek Corporation, the major supplier of the world's leading graphics card brand GECUBE, recently announced the world's first RADEON X1000 AGP Series Graphics products with the launch of the RADEON® X1300 and RADEON® X1600 graphics cards.
The GC-RX1600PGA2-D3 features 12 pixel pipelines, Shader Model 3.0 support, 500 MHz core frequency, and 128-bit 256MB DDR2 memory. On the other hand, the GC-RX1300GA2-D3 features 4 pixel pipelines, Shader Model 3.0 support, 450 MHz core frequency, and 128-bit 256MB DDR2 memory.
The availability of the GeCube Radeon X1300 AGP (GC-RX1300GA2-D3) is slated for the end of this month, whereas the GeCube Radeon X1600 AGP (GC-RX1600PGA2-D3) is scheduled to hit the market by the middle of January, 2006, according to the company. [TG Daily]
I guess this proves that AGP is not yet dead. In my opinion, those interested in the Radeon X1300 (4 pixel pipelines) should compare its price with a GeForce 6600 AGP card (8 pixel pipelines) first before they buy.
